scenes from a festival
Bill Monroe's Bean Blossom Festival is the longest running bluegrass event in the world and the last time I was here (1979), Lester Flatt was still pickin' & singin'. The motor homes are bigger now, as are the people, but the music is the same - whether it's coming from the stage or one of the small groups gathered in the woods. If you've never experienced bluegrass under the open sky, it's something to put on your list.

the end
With much fanfare the 2012 edition of Look3 has come to a close. Leaving C-ville is always tough - but with it, the promise of next year.
last day
Gilden & Schwartz made for a long morning - thankfully Alex Webb ended the Masters Talks with a good narrative and wonderful images. Later I did my best (maybe) 'Webbian' imitation of Stanley Greene, while Barry & Michael played yakuza and enforcer. We ended the festival at Crozet Pizza (well lit & composed, as always).
